Formed in 2007, the House Republican Health Care Task Force is charged with:

• Examining the cost of health care and insurance.
• Investigating how to make health more affordable and accessible.
• Reviewing issues related to the medical community.

After months of meeting with various stakeholders, the task force has unveiled a package of legislation that:

• Lowers health care costs,
• Covers more of the uninsured,
• Gives consumers flexibility and transparency,
• Does not raise taxes, and
• Keeps health care services in the private sector increasing competition

House Republicans believe that health care reform must be patient-centered, where doctors and patients are making health care decisions, not government. To view our legislative proposals, click on “Legislation” on the left-hand side.
